An exceptional, vintage lady's timepiece from Patek Philippe.

In the 1920's Patek Philippe, the unrivaled premier watchmaker in the world, on occasion made jewel encrusted ladies watches to meet the needs of their discriminating female clientele.

Today these special watches are sought-after by women of distinction, Hollywood actresses, and any lady desiring to wear a world-class timepiece.

The rare and very exclusive ladies diamond and platinum Patek Philippe watch showcased as the Watch of the Week is a prime example of this phenomenon, made for the company's U.S. clientele and likely sold through Tiffany & Co. We were very fortunate to acquire it, and it will be a showstopping gift for a special woman in your life this Christmas or for yourself!

It embodies the highest levels of timeless sophistication and Art Deco elegance from the world's premier watch firm. The sixty-eight diamonds on its stunning case are stunning, as one would expect from original factory set diamonds on a watch of this caliber.

Over the years, many platinum and diamond ladies Pateks have passed through these halls, but this is the most diamond encrusted one we have ever owned. The diamonds are full size and the two centerpiece ones are each approximately one-quarter of a carat - the total diamond weight is approximately two carats!

The case whose lugs are hinged to conform to the wrist that's wearing it, has numbers that match the movement. Its case and crown are both exquisitely engraved with leaf, and floral patterns. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

Patek designed the extremely high-grade movement to maintain very accurate timekeeping even across a wide range of temperatures, positions, and even amounts of power left (isochronism), something only the highest top tier of mens movements could do. It was virtually unheard of quality for a women's movement, except for some made by Patek Philippe and a few of the highest level ladies movements from a couple other top echelon manufacturers. It is one of the very few women's watches that is truly on par with the very top-tier of men's watches.

It has all of its original parts and presents in pleasing condition, appearing to have been worn only occasionally in appreciation of its quality and value and then safely stored away.

Its silver Patek signed dial presents beautifully, likely very well-restored long ago in vintage times. Its exquisitely engraved case is is in excellent condition with only light wear. It appears never to have been polished.

Its rare ornate original platinum band is adjustable and in very good condition. As is common with these, it has previously been reinforced at one end.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (an $895 value).

We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

Like always, included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Please inquire if you would like us to obtain a Patek Phillipe Archive Extract for it. Patek charges 500 CHF.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts.
